The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units.
PE & Sports Premium
Sports Premium grant expenditure report for parents
The government provides additional funding for primary schools to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport.
This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is allocated to primary schools on an annual basis.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
